The citation presented reads in part - Historians may one day recognize Alcoholics Anonymous to have been a great venture is social action, a new therapy based on kinship of common suffering, one having a vast potential for the myriad other ills of man kind.
I view SR as part of the evolution of that then new therapy. Kinship of common suffering - remarkable we can now reach out globally to each other to solve our common problem(s) Together!
Together WE stay sober !

"The Kinship of Common Suffering".
Thanks for posting Flyn. During 7 plus hours in the car today, I did a lot of thinking. I was trying to come up with how it is that SR is such an integral part of my sobriety. This sums up the concept so well.

yes, there is that.
what strikes me as odd about this[COLOR="Blue"] The citation presented reads in part - Historians may one day recognize Alcoholics Anonymous to have been a great venture is social action, a new therapy based on kinship of common suffering, one having a vast potential for the myriad other ills of man kind. is that "the book" is so specific about it not being about the kinship of suffering but about having a common solution.
seems like a misunderstanding on the awarding end?

When I think about " solve our common problem" " what it was like " and we are like survivors of a shipwreck that is what I consider the kinship of suffering in AA.
We don't dwell on these things but they do create a kinship of suffering I believe.
