Wanted to give a temporary goodbye

I have decided to take a break from SR. I need some time to myself to figure out things. Take care.

A relapse is a chance to make a new start. Please stay.

If you were leaving after a period of sobriety, I'd say great. Leaving shortly after drinking again might not be the wisest choice. Times I've wanted to leave here were times I was usually hearing something I really needed to hear for one reason or another. You might want to think about that, before putting up your final post.

[edit] If you're leaving here to dive more fully into AA or some other recovery program, then I take back the above :).

I have decided to give sobriety another try. I thought I was going to drink again today but miraculously chose not to. I spent last night on the floor in front of my fan because I was burning up. Now I am getting something to eat. I am starting to feel better after last night.

Well done my dear. I am on your side. What can you do tonight to make it a bit easier? Early sleep/bath/ice cream...all of the above?

I am eating out right now and treating myself to a nice dinner. Then I have decided to go to a women's AA meeting at 8:15. Then I should probably come home and go to sleep. I should have eaten something yesterday before my slip. The restaurant was going to closed 2 minutes after I got there, or else I probably would not have drank. I also feel sort of shaky right now with my hands.

I can understand your wanting to take a break from posting for a while. But I hope you will continue to log on and read others' posts. You might also want to consider sending PM's to the people you feel were most helpful to you. I'm sure they'd want to know how you are doing. John

It's amazing how finally my husband helped me today. Rather than drink, he told me to just rest, and he was right. I woke up and felt a little better.
