Have you considered volunteering your time to help others? It's pretty amazing how much better it can help one feel.

i'm having problems with my job i feel useless as well. I'm rather concerned i'm going to get fired. But I wont drink. I know sometimes i say ugg a stiff drink right about now... but i wont drink. I'll go for a walk i'll go for a run i'll read a book something but i wont drink.

I know if i drink i'm in way more trouble. I'd rather go through what i'm going through sober then not. if i loose my job and i'm not sober i'm in even more trouble!

kick scream cry etc.. but dont drink is how i go anyhow.

It gets better with time @ can't stop thinking about booze. The more sober time that you have, the less often you will find yourself thinking about alcohol. It took several months for me to stop glamorizing it and start seeing it for what it really is.

The thing about feeling useless is , if we drink on that, we'll only feel more useless...

you're not useless boris...you've come a very long way from where you were.

do you have people to reach out too and talk to apart from here at SR?

Hi Boris, that's a double whammy. Either one of those thoughts is not a good feeling. We understand. You are not useless, you are feeling useless, and there is a difference in my opinion. As far as thinking about booze, that may never go away, or at least take a long time to overcome, thus the term alcoholic. This too shall pass. Wishing you the best.

Hi.

I don’t know of or heard of our feelings being “fixed/repaired” by drinking. After a drinking episode it’s the SOS, with shame involved.

BE WELL
