Sobriety & Gut Instincts

I have just realized another benefit of sobriety:

I can read people and situations more accurately. In the past, I'd ignore my instincts and bury my uncomfortable feelings about people and situations in a box of wine... sort of like, "I know Fred is cheating, my friends are only using me, my family really IS crazy and my boss is screwing me over but if I stay drunk, then it's not really happening"...

Being clear-headed and having heightened natural senses has saved me so much time lately. I don't go anywhere near toxic people or situations, I mind my own business (usually), I don't tolerate unfair treatment and if someone/ something makes me uncomfortable in a bad way, I turn tail and run...

This is so much better than waking up in the morning and wondering how I got myself into yet another personal mess/crisis!

Yep it's a good thing sad how much of this world is screwed up but whatever all you gotta do is keep you nose clean and avoid it when you can etc.. I know the drill in the past is let it get to me way more then bury my head in a beer barrel.

Now I think not my circus dem ain't my monkeys!
