Where do I belong?
Where do I belong?
I'm not new to SR, so "newbie" is a bit old
I have no friends, so "friends and family" is out of the question
But I am an alcoholic so I fit right in
I guess I have one good thing to say, when I get depressed I don't want a drink
I think a lot of my depression has to do with the broken hip of mine. I can't work- I can barely walk- it's been a little over a month ( only one-two months to go )

airwick, of course you fit in here -- I'm glad you reached out, because I knew about your hip thing, and how long the healing is and frustrating and tiresome -- but I haven't reached to you enough.
For extra SR support, you might try some of the gratitude threads or interactive games. I get a lot out of building the habit of finding something to be grateful for every day at least once -- I probably ought to be doing it more!

airwick broke a hip at the same time you were so sick, SoberLeigh!
Poor pigeons, we've neglected you. I wish I could make you both a cup of tea and pass around chocolate biscuits. Let's pretend, ok? Or a slice of strategery cake!

You are welcome wherever you would like to be Airwick! I still spend a lot of time in newcomers as it helps me stay grounded, but also here. Is your depression something you have seen a dr or counselor for? It can really help.
((Airwick)) I'm so sorry about your hip! And I'm sorry that I somehow missed that you were injured! Being in pain and having limited mobility can certainly be depressing! Ugh! I know about that first hand and can totally relate!
I hope you're feeling better soon in every way!
Here's a hug and I'm sending good thoughts and well wishes your way!

airwick I've been wondering where you've been! I haven't seen you posting for awhile.
Damn I'm sorry you broke your hip. How did it happen?
I can relate as well.... I've been having mobility issues of my own.
As far as not feeling like you fit in. You never need to feel like that when you are here with us
I hope you mend up soon and get back to feeling well. Last summer when I was off work and cooped up at home the sadness got to me too. It will pass. Keep your chin up!

airwick, you belong wherever you decide you do!
i used to think/feel/believe that it was any "group" that decided if i belonged with them, but one day someone on another forum told me differently: that we get to decide where we belong, no matter what "they" say
had never occurred to me! a revolution in thinking!
maybe you belong all over the place, depending on where you're at /
(belonging (not) has been a major "theme" in my life.)
sorry about your hip and accompanying frustrations.
