Fifty Shades of Mystic Okra
I do believe I need me a "Fighting Okra" T shirt to add to the collection. I saw a T shirt that made me laugh out loud "Cool as a Moose" with a big old gangly legged moose on it. I want one of those too.
Trach, my grandma used to make the stewed okra and tomato thing. Yuck. Too vicous.
AG, you work in the fray long enough, you learn the lingo. I've never been arrested but I've always been careful about getting permits and such. The world has gotten much meaner in the last years. We're it up to me, I'd like to see all teens to do volunteer service in the communities. I think it's important for those of us in recovery to give back too. Helps keep it real, I think.
Midnight, are you staying hydrated? I hope your headache passes quickly.
The desert really is beautiful is its subtly, the blooming of desert plants. I like the lizards and the horny toads. I don't mind snakes so much, I do like frogs and toads.
OK then.....back to business
Sobriety rocks..... for another sober day, grateful.
Love from Lenina

MM-pretty sweet that you're going out to Moab. Enjoy the scenery. The Utah mascot has some really buff forearms...
Trach-I vote for fried okra.
Midnight-I hope you're able to get some rest and that your headache is better tomorrow.
Lenina-I am thinking about a fighting okra shirt too. Did you know that Scottsdale is home of the fighting artichokes? If you get both shirts, Scottsdale and Delta State can have a food fight.

hey midnight, just want you to know you are in my thoughts
lenina, sounds like you are living way up on maslow's pyramid.
fighting vegetables. I was afraid they would turn on each other one day. never a question of if; only a question of when.

Hi, Okra folks.
I've accumulated quite a bunch of "thanks" to you all.
Lenina - You are a genius! I think that in addition to lack of sleep yesterday, dehydration was the case about my headache! I ran out of bottled water, and tap water at my place is just absolutely impossible to drink. So, I hardly had half a glass before leaving the home. And I got back only about 7 hours after! And I usually drink my regular 8 glasses of water daily, so it was pretty much stressful for my body. Thank you)
AddictGuy - Thank you so much for keeping me in your thoughts) And I still keep repeating the mantra. I admit I sometimes losing my cool once in a while, but still I repeat the mantra every day)
Trach - Your words about being a warrior just rocked my world. Today I went for grocery shopping. And weather was miserable. And I wore some snickers which are about to fall apart, and so on. But then I remembered your words and smiled: "No shame being through a war. I won any way". Now it's time to recover after-war economy. And I still have every reason to be proud of myself.
Leshar - Sorry you feel down and have cravings today. Sending you hugs and positive vibes. Tomorrow will be better!
My best wishes to all)

Leshar, the cravings will pass. Our dear CarolD said she used to time hers and they lasted about five to seven minutes. Are you hungry? Did your pretty bird eat up your toast? Are you rested? Angry? Lonely? I'm not sure where you are but can you get out and walk? That used to help me.
I couldn't sleep last night, so I slept way late which is sure to mess me up tonight. I have only one room left to clean top to bottom so that's progress.
I have some disappointment and sadness today. It's out of my control. I need to let it go.
The world is a very weird place. Most days I just don't understand it. Or even worse, I do. Ultimately, I can only be responsible for myself and my contributions. Keep my "street" clean.
So, how's YOUR day going?

That is some fierce looking turtle!
Sorry you didn't get your okra. I am planning to make a nice gazpacho for tomorrow. It really needs to sit overnight for best flavor.
I am having trouble catching up with this new iPad. It's plenty cool but it's messing with my iPhone I feel like the tentacles are too intertwined. And too tangled with work and my private life. I think I need another trip to the Genius Bar at Apple.
