I go by the hour now. It's less stressful this way.

I'm going to clean by room and bathroom today. I'm drinking tea. I'm not an advocate of drinking coffee when you are in your first few days of quitting alcohol.

This is great!
It's interesting that you mentioned cleaning... I did the same recently when made a firm decision to stop drinking. Spring cleaning the body and the dwelling... It's really therapeutic.
How are you? Hour by hour is a good strategy!

Keep Going!

Hi, I did the same things -- cleaned up my digs and avoided caffeine ('cuz I had the shakes bad enough already).

Do you have any support you can lean upon in this first stretch? I've been sober 12 days, and I'm finding it helpful to attend a daily AA meeting. I don't know if I'll become a permanent fixture at those meetings or not, but in my early days, it's helpful for me to have a place to go and a time to be there. And it's helpful to have some people to talk to, since my alcoholism drove most of my friends away.

Keep on going!
