Detoxed at a hospital for two weeks in Jan. Discharged/released 22nd Jan and have relapsed 3 times since. Self detoxed myself with benzos 3 times since the detox.

I'm going to update this thread everytime something positive happens.

Detox is crucial, but just one step in the recovery journey. You need help. You've proved you struggle doing this on your own, and in previous posts you've rejected AA. Sort of puts you in a bind.

At least stay close to SR. You need support. Hope we're enough.

Thanks. All these years my weak mind, will, alcoholism has held me back from everything. Everything.

35 in September and time too face reality and start living.

Hi.

I understand as I was a big time procrastinator while drinking, suddenly a lot of time went by and it became more difficult mentally and emotionally.

Dragging my feet for too long I attended AA meetings and finally good things rubbed off: I wanted to be sober more than I wanted to drink. It was work involving changes but today I wouldn’t change one bit of the experiences or people we get close to.

BE WELL

What have you been doing to supplement your sobriety - meetings? counseling? outpatient treament? Detox is only the beginning of sobriety of course.

35 years young! Just think of all the healthy, sober, productive, and positive years you have left!
