Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
Good evening everybody. My name's Bri and I'm an alcoholic. I've been sitting here at my computer working on a school paper for the last couple of hours and I needed a break, so I got on Facebook. First mistake right? lol Anyway, I see people with their green beer and what not and it just took me back a little bit to what I used to be.
The thing was for me, I overdid it on St. Patrick's Day just as I would any other day. The stuff that is an integral part of the holiday to the "normies" is poison in my life. So, in essence for me if I were to take some Lye and put green food coloring in it, the end effect would be similar!
The great thing is, I don't have to do that today. I'll wake up early tomorrow morning. I'll exercise, I'll read some recovery literature, I'll read the bible and pray. I'll have time to get ready before I have to leave the house!
I just wanted to say, if you are new and struggling, it gets better. We are not our addictions. Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
