Much more positive
Another meeting last night. I heard some really meaningful stuff that seems to be seeping in bit by bit. Especially the 'just for today' thing. I can't solve my life's problems, or sort out my sobriety all at once.
I've made some great contacts already. I got my 24 hour chip, too!
I can't promise the 90 meetings in 90 days, but I'll do as many as I can (thinking 5-6 a week, but I won't look into the future. I can only promise myself to do my utmost).

This is great news!
Personally I find the "just for today" thing very useful because as soon as I start taking on the week's problems, my head goes into overload and that's definitely not a helpful place to be.

For each meeting you go to and
listen, learn, absorb and apply,
then that is adding money on the
bank as was described to me, so
that I can draw on it when life's
troubles try to get the best of me.
Just think how rich you will be in
knowledge, experiences, full of hope
each day you remain sober.
Stay grounded in recovery and
remain humble at all times.
A thumbs up to you all the way
down here in Baton Rouge.

Congratulations and keep us posted on how things go!
I very pleased to hear you've made these meetings SarahLou.
For some reason your post reminded me of something that happened to me on my hike yesterday. Getting somewhat off the beaten path (which I am prone to do), I was enjoying the fine scenery. Suddenly the world started spinning. I found myself off balance and only narrowly avoided doing a face plant. Then, at eye level as I looked back to where I had just been, I saw the rock I had just tripped over.
As important as it is to have a plan, enjoy the scenery and to look ahead, it's at least as important to watch your step. Stay in the now.
