oh yes, it's an achievement!
you overcame fear and resistance and asked for help.
and you're not "resting on those laurels" but going to a meeting and willing to listen and being open-minded.

I used to go to AA meetings while being a bit of a buzz. All that is required is a desire to stop drinking. Some people looked at my with pity, but I kept going back.
