Hey Trapezefreak

I tried to get sober without changing anything else about my life - it didn't work.
I was leading a drinkers life trying not to be a drinker.

I had to make some changes.

I had to draw a line in the sand and decide which side of the line I was on - drinker or not, and let the chips fall as they may.

You don;t have to take out a full page ad in the Times explaining why you don;'t drink - you just have to learn to say not thanks and stick to it.

Sometimes it will be uncomfortable, but it gets easier.

I think finding more support is a great idea too. You'll get out of this recovery exactly what you put into it, man

D
