I didn't completely abstain today, but when confronted with my drinking I made the choice to admit it. I can't decide if this is a positive or negative step.

I guess it's better than lying about it. But, if you hadn't taken that drink, you wouldn't be in this quandary.
It's good that you admitted it, but remember, if you don't take a drink you'll never have to be in that situation again.

Twenty years of trying and failing to moderate have taught me that the only way to victory is complete abstinence, forever. These moderating victories have always resulted in more drinking and a resumption of the downward spiral to ultimate oblivion. My experience anyway.

Unless you decide to put action behind the admission. it's probably most likely to be a fairly neutral step I'm afraid Sarah....

do you have any kind of plan to help you stop drinking and stay stopped yet?
