Abstaining

Crazy week. Wanting the beer in the fridge where I am staying. First week at new job. Difficult. Very early mornings and long commute. Takes several hours and unfortunately overeating until cravings pass.
Have tomorrow off and was so close to just grabbing a beer to watch a movie. Watched my friend down a couple cold ones, I was practically drooling.
Hope you all had a good week. Happy Saturday night

Bless your heart, girl, you did good!!!

can you fix something healthy, a nice smoothie to sip, or iced tea?

do something good for yourself tomorrow, ok? exercise, drawing, reading, walk in the park. make your new life enjoyable as much as possible.
this stuff will pass.
hugs!

Drinking that beer won't really make you stop thinking about beer, but it will most certainly make you more stressed out if you do drink it.

Hang in there. You're doing fine.

Hi.

In my early sobriety it was often suggested to focus our thinking on non drinking thoughts, it takes practice but it works.

BE WELL

Good for you for resisting....and one beer would have led to thoughts of more.

I'm usually not a fan of non-alcoholic beer, but there have been a few times when I was outside in the sun at a ballgame and really get a hankering for a cold brewdog. I'd see all the other fans with these delicious looking beers with water beading down the outside of the cup. So, I ordered a cold non alcoholic Brew and it took the edge off. I think it's because u associate being at sporting events and being outside on a nice day with drinking, and drinking soda sucks. The fake beer wasn't great, but I stopped fixating on the idea of getting a real beer. Because for me, one beer leads to six more, and where I live they sell for $9 a pop at the stadium.

Not good, not good at all. Abstaining is quite easy, white knuckling it is not fun, not fun one bit.
