Sleepie, five weeks is fantastic.

Congratulations!!!!

Everyone is different. At five weeks, my body and mind still had some healing to do.

Thanks! I have a long way to go. But I think most of the health dangers of quitting are past at six weeks. Like withdrawal kind of stuff. I haven't gone this long in years and that fact is quite disconcerting.

Rock on, Sleepie!

I'm sure you know about PAWS, so don't be discouraged if you still have days that you don't feel right.

The longer you stay sober, the better it gets!

Excellent progress Sleepie, You are well through detox thats for sure, physical aspects all but gone I'm sure and learning to adjust to the psychological aspects are now key to a long stretch of sobrietry.

at 6 weeks i felt great and the cravings although sometimes strong were getting easier to control and happening less frequently.

Well done buddy, very happy for you.

5 weeks sobriety seems like a million years sobriety. that's a big deal. I remember one time I got 30 days and got brave figured I could have a couple with dinner that led to a 6 pack ont he way home and a decade more of daily drinking. Now I have over 3 years but heck anything over 1 day is a miracle for any of us!

good job!

I think PAWS are what you're referring too. Withdrawal typical only lasts 3-7 days, but PAWS can last for awhile into sobriety.
