recovering addict prescribef pain pills
stan - Welcome to SR!!
I can only share my experience. Pain pills were something I previously abused.
However, I've been very honest with my doctor(s)/dentist and there have been times when I needed more than over-the-counter meds.
I was given a limited amount of pills, no refills without seeing the doctor/dentist again.
It's just my opinion, but I don't think recovery means that you have to suffer severe pain. Some people may be able to do with OTC meds, I'm not one of them.
I do, however, hold my recovery as a priority and I have no desire to keep using meds after the pain is manageable with OTC meds.
Healing hugs and prayers for you,
Amy

Did you tell the Dr you were in recovery? If not I would be very suspect
If my pain could not be controlled without narcotics then I would take them but have my wife administer them
