Without a drink. I cannot believe I have done it. I have read over my first thread here from 1/1/12 and my life is so different now and so much better. I have almost completed a psychotherapy degree. I have wrote a book and am hoping to get it published. I have been in the best relationship of my life for almost a year now with a beautiful man inside and out that treats me the way I should be treated. I have got rid of numerous toxic friends. Thank you all so much. I never realised the potential in me while I was drinking. Once I quit it, I became who I was always meant to be. I got so much wonderful support here when I started out. I remember reading of people who had reached a year sober and I was in awe. I was grateful for my first week. We owe it to ourselves to realise our full potential. That is not possible when drinking. It had totally taken over my life. When anyone drinks to excess, it changes so many things. Being free of it has allowed me to be who I was meant to be. I wake up grateful for every day and what it may bring, instead of waking up with regrets. There is no comparison. A sober life is the best life and we all owe ourselves the best life we can have. Best wishes all. I came here unsure I could do it - and I did it. We all can do it if we really want to. And that is the key. You have to really WANT it. xx |
