Day 6!!

Well everyone - day 6 is here!

As well as being alcohol free?

I'M 52 HOURS CIGARETTE FREE

Had to take a Diazepam earlier though, as I felt quite anxious. GP prescribed it for this reason.

Didn't sleep too well last night Only 4-5 hours sleep. Very busy day. And a very dry cough!

Hope you're all well

Hey am658- Nice job with the six days! Done with the smokes too, which is fantastic.

I stopped cigarettes myself years ago, and I know how VERY hard that can be, so good for for staying strong!!!

Well done, keep it up. The first couple of weeks are very hard but it does get better.
I found booze a lot harder to give up than smokes. In fact I quit smoking 10 years before the drink, it was easy in comparison. I was planning on doing both but could not wrestle the alcohol till I finally surrendered to my alcoholism two years ago and started doing the steps.

Day 7 Update!!

Had a better night's sleep last night - thanks Diazepam!

Still smoke free and alcohol free. I definitely think the alcohol was much harder to give up. But I don't miss either "things". All they were going to do to me was send me to an early grave.

Any time I find myself "missing" alcohol, I read about Wet Brain. And if I find myself thinking about a cigarette, I just read about COPD. Pretty extreme, I know, but it DOES work!!

Hope you're all well on this freezingly cold day!

I must add, I can't believe how well I'm doing without the cigarettes. It's nearly 72 hours since my last one.

Anyone who is reading this and still smokes, try the eCigs/Vaping! They're fantastic!!

Yay for you! Day seven for me too...and I'm cigarette free as well! We totally rock!
For me, the smoking and the booze went hand in hand, and they were both killing me.
Well done, am!!
