Just drink it
People can tell me all day long and did on why I didn't really need to quit and what alcohol added to my life!!
But I can SHOW you what quitting did for me and what it added to my life, the day I parted ways with alcohol on a permanent basis I regained so much that alcohol could never provide!!

buyingisbad,
you talk about what your best friend is doing to you, when from here it looks like he's doing something for you.
insisting on you being sober before you two will talk again.
there will be a level playing field.
and sounds like he expects you'll be sober again.
sounds like a good guy to have in your corner.

Sure, I'll go along with that. It's up to you to decide.
However, being this is a sober recovery site let me add drinking/drugs can also bring about unpleasant consequences.

They also bring on character. And to one thinking they will get into heaven by simply stopping the drink is foolishness.

Hi buyingisbad. So what are you looking for on this board, or what are you trying to ask/bring across? It's not really clear from your posts, especially this thread. People most often come here either because they want to stop drinking, or they are looking for help to answer some questions about their habits or problems. Many of us were also drinking when we first came here, myself included. But it's good to have at least some sort of specific goal or question... How can we help you?
I've never heard that in AA. If you feel a group isn't working for you, try another. I did over and over. I had issues everywhere, until I realized the problem was me. Drunk me always had a problem that was hopeless , because I wasn't willing to quit drinking.
buyingisbad,
when you've been sober a bit, maybe talk with your buddy or listen to others at whatever meetings you like or talk with others here about how your seeing drinking and sobriety is tied in with heaven, hell and God's judgment.
those are some heavy-duty things as a burden to carry while trying to stop drinking.
put the drink down first and figure out your thoughts on that later?
what would help you to stop now?

I quit drinking & I also quit believing I knew the future, including the future after death. Who knows? But sober I can live a better live now.
I hope you make a decision to give up the booze, buyingisbad. I can read a lot of pain in your posts and booze doesn't make that any easier to bear, in my experience.

God does forgive. It's ultimately your decision how to live your life and whether you want to live sober or drunk and whether you want to seek his forgiveness. All I know is continuing down the path of drunkenness never ends well. Hopefully, you realize this before it's too late.
