Bigtime Relapse - Detox - AA - Here.. Hello SR friends, For those who remember me its been awhile since I last posted here. I've been through quite a bit since then. I more or less when on a 2 1/2 month bender drinking morning till night. My girlfriend had enough and moved out of our place leaving me with pretty much nothing - which was understandable..I don't blame her. This left me with no one to bug me about drinking, which only increased the drinking. The last month of this bender I was in and out of the Hospital 3 times. Last of which I was diagnosed with Gastritis/Withdrawl(thought it was another Pancreatitis attack) and referred to a local Detox. Ill spare you the details leading up to Detox, but it was complete Hell ''maintenance drinking'' on the waiting list for Detox..my goodness. I don't remember how I got there or checking in. I made it though. Was there for 10 days and the support I received was unbelievable. After checking out I went to 2 AA meetings that night. Been going to them everyday since. Yesterday I got my 1 month chip..and things are slowly getting better. My Girlfriend has started to talk to me again and I'm going to see a number of Specialists by the end of the month. I haven't prayed this much since I was a little kid.. I believe everything happens for a reason..God has a plan for me..or else I woulda been gone along time ago. I cannot do this alone..I tried and ended right back in the hospital. Doing it my way will probably kill me. I'm only 33, I can still make things right. Anyways, i'm happy to be back! Missed this Place.. :ring |

VERY nice OP Max. It sounds hopeful, like things might slowly get better in a permanent sort of way. Don't ever forget where you've been. Good to see you made it back. All the best to you. |
Welcome back my friend. It may sound a little contrived but honestly, asking God for a sober day and thanking God when you have one are 2 of the best things you can do for yourself right now. Keep coming back, you never have to go through this again. |
