As someone who is 56 I will say that looking at the poll results is pretty interesting. Based on the poll results almost 1/3 of the visitors here are under 35. I would guess that less than 10% of the people who attend AA meetings in my area are under 35. Actually as I think about it I would guess it's closer to 5%. Not surprised though since younger folks have always looked to the internet first when they want information.

67 years old here and proud of every single day and year... kids and beans..
one of the things you have to remember as you get older..
1. you have done damage to your body and
2. to your brain...
nothing is going to fix it fast and you did not harm it fast. you harmed it over the years...
my Eddie Lee is 62 this October.. we have a handle on his big problem.. its not that you are nuts or (well maybe) losing your mind.. but the drugs and drink and smoke and bad habits over all the years have done damage to electrical connections in your brain.. yep..
we have been together for 27 years this June 4.... and for the first time in 5 years .. I have my hubby from 1992 back again.. the meds that are repairing his brain and the (Endorphins are among the brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters, which function to transmit electrical signals within the nervous system. ... Endorphins interact with the opiate receptors in the brain to reduce our perception of pain and act similarly to drugs such as morphine and codeine.) are being slowly repaired.. with each day of good habits and sleep and .. I have heard his laughter and he now talks to the cats and me... please ... stop stop this day... and help your Man in the Mirror to start his or her change and have a better tomorrow.. love you all so much. from one end of this big blue marble to the other... Please Promise this old Lady Clown.. you will be around in the year 2080 to laugh and say remember that Silly Old Lady Clown... love Holly the Holiday Clown with laughter and love ardy

Just turned 50.... Very glad I joined this forum recently, I lurked around this site looking for someone like me and found a whole bunch, thank goodness. Six weeks and still rocking no booze, but my bottled water habit is way out of control now. Thanks SR!
I'm 39... this is my 3rd time at this.. 1st time was with my partner at the time but as soon as we broke up I slowly got back on it..but always knew I had a drinking problem and always admitted it..hopefully I will be sticking too it and not drinking into my 40s..

69 sober since May 1983........do I miss it nope . miss my children as little people.. adults all now. Melly does to much wine. Barry drinks with his Marine Father in law for real hard booze. Ivan is a drinker and a diabetic.. fear for all of them. can watch. can say softly Mr. Quilling maybe you should re think that glass.. and have them look at me with those eyes of a child that knew how the Grand Dad was.. and then and only that moment will put the glass down.. miss my children very much.. ok now I did it I need a tissue.... love you all here so much too. a Mom just is a Mom and a silly old lady clown is teary er all the time.. love a Mom...
