Thanksgiving

On this national day of gratitude, I am thankful for so much in my life. Thankful for my loving wife and children, my Mother, my Aunt, Uncle and cousins, my inlaws, my fulfilling job, my restored health, my comfortable home, my trustworthy vehicle, my freedom, and my life in general. Just to scratch the surface.

But ahead of all of these material gratitudes, I'm thankful for my sobriety. And the connection with God as I understand Him which brought it about and maintains it. Because without sobriety, I can forget about the family, the job, the health, the home and car, the freedom, and life itself. And without God, I can forget about sobriety. So I stay close.

These days, everyday is Thanksgiving!

prior to the family meal i thought I"m thankful i'm here today. thats all i'm really thankful for without that nothing else would matter to me. I'm thankful i'm hear for all intensive purposes i shoudlnt even be here today with the years of nonsense i did.

Then after the family left my mood went kapoot. and i started getting depressed. I didnt even really want the whole gathering anyhow i dont like the socialization of it all. But my mood went flat and depressed.

then i read this thread and I feel a hair better. bedtimes around the corner anyhow and i'm eager to just watch some tv.
