More Advice Needed! Potential (Recovering) Alcoholic Roommate
Hey Butch. I think that is great. I know you don't have an immediate solution to a problem but I really admire the thoughtful prudence with which you approached a decision.
To me, your ability to step back and examine different aspects of a decision that will affect your day to day future life really highlights a lot of intellectual and emotional sobriety. I have a lot of admiration for the care and attention you are giving this process.
You are taking ownership of your life….congrats!

I'm so glad that you and she both received the same counsel and are acting on it. I'm especially glad that you are both somewhat relieved and are eager to start a friendship! I'm sure you will be a great encouragement to each other in these early days of sobriety!
okay, I finally read this. I still think it is not a good idea to room with someone else who is still early in recovery.
Your thought process is clear. But your emotions or ability to reason may not be.
