Nauseous and having to throw up again
This past weekend, I came really close to relapsing. I drank a glass, but then decided to throw it up. I felt soooo guilty. I went to bed feeling fine. Well, the next day I ate Burger King (bad, bad idea!) And had some kind of spicey sauce that upset my stomach. I ended up making myself throw up because it hurt so bad. Since then, my stomach has been hurting and the acids are foamy. I do take tums and antacids, but it doesn't seem to be helping on this second day. I still feel nauseous and have no appetite.
I know, I know, I need to see a doctor...my question is, do I have to get a primary physician firat in order to be referred to a specialist? I have never really been to a doctor, minus the emergency room.

Thought I would give an update. I saw my primary care physician. She has me going in for blood tests in the morning to check my pancreas, kidneys, and liver. I also have some kind of test to look at my thyroid in my neck, because it is swollen. She prescribed me phenegran (sp) for nausea and tramadol for headaches. Apparently, aspirins and ibuprofen (nsaids) irritate that stomach more. Unfortunately, the pharmacy couldn't get me the anti nausea meds tonight. The tramadol has a long list of side effects and can be addictive. It is usually something they prescribe to people after surgery or severe pain...50mg and my head feels loopy. I don't know if I will take it again, although, it is nice to not be in pain stomach wise. I hope my tests come back normal and the stomach thing is just a bacterial infection ....H pilori.
Its not a curse i truly believe the body understands our heartfelt feelings like when we give up drink and admit how it is not the way its destroyed us etc the body listens im sure of that
at 3 days away from 16 months sober my stomach still turns at the thought of a drink
i believe that is our body/soul essence protecting us as it deeply understands we dont want to drink
