OT, I suppose, but...

Bridget Jones's Diary with Renee Zellweger is about a woman trying to improve herself. She drinks excessively and smokes. There are some scenes about her drinking that hit home to me (I have done the same things).

Anyway, it's not like Requiem; it's a rather humorous approach to serious issues. It was entertaining to me.

Smashed

Just watched this movie "Smashed" and was surprised I have never heard of it before. Very good flick. Definitely hit home for me.

Owning Mahoney and Love Liza are 2 great movies about addiction. Ironically, and sad, both are starring Phillip Seymore Hoffman who died from a heroine overdose last year.

For those who like film noirs, Nightmare Alley (in my opinion one of Tyrone Powers best roles).
Another oldie but goodie is Gervaise if you like French Movies

I just watched Wild on HBO, it's based on a real woman who was battling her addictions and hiked the pacific crest trail on her own. It's with Reese Witherspoon. Was great...

Yeah that's probably the best flick on alcoholism

Another very good one is The Morning After
Which stars dick van dike. It's a made for TV release.
