sobriety=freedom
sobriety=freedom
Hi folks, I just wanted to drop a line today and remind everyone how living a life of sobriety means freedom. We were all a slave to alcohol. For me, my whole life centered around drinking. I had to plan my every waking moment to alcohol addiction. I manipulated people, time and work for alcohol. It controlled my entire life and I was the only one that didn't know it. Sobriety allows me the freedom to run my life as I see fit. The juggling act is over! The battle is over. Contentment has arrived. I wish you all the best in your struggle against this disease. Its insidious, its controlling, its manipulative and its deadly. Lets stay sober today and enjoy it. Its our turn. Good day all.

Just last night, I walked outside my house and was doing something late, getting water for chickens, and the neighbor came up and chatted. Instead of walking away or saying I have to leave, I sat and chatted for 45 minute. Why? Because I was sober, and I knew I could have a good conversation without her thinking I was a drunk. Freedom from hiding from people when intoxicated is a nice thing. Just a simple small positive from being away from alcohol!
