One night...

Hi everyone.

I was sober after a hospital detox for 7 weeks, then last night stupidly had really bad anxiety and drank.

I'm scared that the withdrawals are going to be bad, as I had 7 cans of lager last night (nowhere near what i used to drink)

Can I just stop again safely? I'm starting to get my life back on track and don't want this stupid mistake to ruin everything

Thanks,
AL

We can't give medical advice here, but I am glad you are jumping right back on the horse. Maybe next time you have anxiety, you can come here instead of drinking. We are always here for you. If you are worried it would not hurt to call the doctor.

Anxiety is uncomfortable for a while, maybe only a few minutes, but it isn't fatal. Drinking, on the other hand, can most certainly do you in.

Can you stop? Of course you can. If you have medical concerns, check in with a doctor, then make a stand and get to it.

Hi blestparasite :)

Like others have said we're not doctors here - all we can recommend is you see a Dr if you're concerned or you feel you need to.

They may be able to help you with anxiety too?

There's a lot of support here - welcome aboard :)

If you start feeling really bad, get medical help. And if you want to drink, come here and post instead. :)

Personally, I never had withdrawals after one night's drinking.
Anxiety is a real trigger to drink.
Soon though, drink causes worse and longer lasting anxiety.
