Sleeping

How long was it after giving up that you were able to sleep through the night every night?

For me it took me a couple of weeks, but things got a little better with each day!!

It varies for everyone though!!

Hang in there!! Push through that initial period to the better times!!

Your body has to sleep at some point. Just hang in there. Enjoy trying to sleep in on days off. That's how I got on track although it took a loooooong time to get there

How old are you? The older you are the more you'll be getting up just to pee. As opposed to when we didn't.

I dont know, alcohol did far more to ruin my sleep than it did to help it.

I'm 37.

Not sure whether sleep problems are alcohol or age related. Annoyingly if I get woken up in the night by kids, dog or whatever I find it really hard to get back to sleep.

My first good nights sleep was the night after I took step 5. No trouble sleeping ever since. That was about two months sober. If I had taken step five sooner, I might have slept better sooner.
