poll --- how long sober ?
370 days. Feel so lucky and blessed that I was ready to commit to my sobriety. It has changed my life. I wish you all the blessing of sobriety. I do not practice any religion but blessing is the best word to describe what freedom from alcohol feels like. Not always easy, some days suck. But nothing as bad as each day I was enslaved to alcohol. You can do it!
Ten months today. My initial quit date of 11/12/13 had to be reset after a slip. I'm claiming 12/1/13. I'm glad I checked this poll because it's been inspiring. I had 10.5 months before I relapsed a year ago August. I'm grateful for SR, AA and all the newcomers and old timers who remind me each day of where I was and where I can go. One day at a time.

Food for thought
What is the Percentage of Alcoholics Who Stay Sober? - Spiritual River
I try to choose my words gingerly when, I mention how many people disappear from here.
Bare this in mind though
Now take all of the people who made it to 90 days sober. About 5% of THOSE people will make it to 2 years sober.
So there is sort of this drop off rate that slides, and it is a pretty scary slope. Make it to 90 days and you are not out of the woods yet. Make it to 2 years and you are STILL not out of the woods yet.
However, if you make it to 4 years sober, then your chances of achieving “permanent sobriety” jump significantly. The statistics show at that point that if you make it to 4 years sober, you will probably stay sober forever. Of course with addiction there are no certainties.
