Day 3 in hospital

Such a pain. I'm not allowed to leave my bed because "I could fall". They also check my vitals Every 2 hours. I have a constant NaCl drip, vitamins, bp medication, and librium. I also tested positive for MRSA. What a hell this is.

Ya I'm detoxing. It's easy to do in a medical setting. It's the MRSA I'm worried about. I don't have an infection, but I do have a colony in my nose.

I just have to put an antibiotic cream up my nose for 5 days for the MRSA. All is well.

MRSA is a microbe that causes various infections, including the staph infection.
Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus I believe, cuz it's now resistant to penicillin and it's derivatives.

Hope it gets resolved. Best wishes.

A nasal mrsa infection is nothing to sneeze at.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

You made the right decision and are doing the right thing, GreenColor. Wishing you a speedy recovery.

Sounds rough.
But hang in there.
You've 3 days down, almost over the worst of the detox.

I know little about MRSA.
Hope it clears up soon.

I think a plan is pretty essential...but what form that plan takes is up to you
Read around and post...see what other people are doing, maybe?

I don't care for AA either, but I would suggest that doing nothing is a bad idea.
I use this site so I can read and think about my sobriety.
In the past, I just assumed everything was fine but didn't think about my problem with drink.
So I became complacent.
And that led to trouble.

Did you get any suggestions or resources from the doctors? Id suggest starting a list of the things you CAN do rather than the ones you won't do.

From my experience, if I didn't have a rock solid plan, I was right back to where I was. And damn, never want to go through that again. Ever.

Good luck to you. You never have to go back. Remember that.
