I get up at 5AM every day....I only drink coffee until i leave for work.
Keurig lover here! (LMK---love my keurig).
How do I Love thee? let me count the ways...Starbuck Verona! Peets Major Dickenson! Dark Italian Roast! Royal Dark Gevalia Kaffe! Southern Pecan! and a cup of flavored Cinnabon, the scent is like dessert. smooth and rich, with a bit of 1/2&1/2 and a little tiny splash of flavored creamer. 3 12 ounce cups to start my day, very hot!
once i get to work i switch to lemon herbal tea and maybe 1 can of diet soda per week...but I do love a coconut water every day.

I gave up caffeine about 6 months ago (alcohol 13 months ago!). I was at the point that after consuming approximately 40 ounces of strong home ground coffee I was ready for a nap. This went on for quite some time. So I did a little research. What I learned, especially from a book called "Caffeine Blues", was that caffeine causes unnecessary stress by increasing our levels of adrenaline. This can lead to a condition called adrenal exhaustion.
Also, caffeine is a highly addictive drug. I had on and off moderately severe headaches for a good 3 weeks after going cold turkey; the same way I quit the bottle. I did love the taste of a good cup of hot coffee. I am sure that my addictive brain associated the taste of that coffee with caffeine.

I'm also a coffee lover. Have been drinking it ~daily since I was about 12. Both of my parents were also coffee drinkers. Before alcohol became a problem, I drank copious amounts of coffee, like all day. Cut down significantly when my alcohol intake increased - just did not crave it that much. After getting sober, I tried not to pick up a heavy coffee habit again, so I am trying to stick with 1-2 cups in the morning and sometimes another one during the day. I also love to experiment with different types of coffee and use various spices in it when I feel like it.
