Some of you may have noticed that I haven't been on the site lately. Just wanted to say I haven't relapsed, still sober! Finally at 16 months sober today I feel like I've reached the point where not drinking is an afterthought. It's something that I don't even put much thought into anymore as its just who I am. So grateful that I've gotten to this point. It took a long time but I got to the point that I've been hoping for all along. Just gotta remember where I came from.

Congrats on 16 months!! If you don't mind me asking, what do you think helped get you where you are?

Besides time spent for my brain and body to adjust I think the main thing was Putting myself in different social situations and getting used to participating in life without altering my state of mind. A big reason I drank alcoholically was social anxiety. Trying to be someone I wasn't.
