First Night
Had a visit with my doctor and fessed up to my drinking habits. Waiting on liver function test results, which I'm sure will be way off.
Last night was my first night without a drink in, oh, I'd say maybe a year. I woke up several times drenched in sweat. I had to change clothes a couple of times. How long do the night sweats last? Also, I slept about 10 hours and am still fatigued.
Got to conquer this demon for good this time.

Good for you for going to the doctor and being honest. Very wise move.
Congratulations on not drinking last night, too.
Only my palms sweat when I quit and it didn't last long, for what it's worth.
The important thing is you're getting sober! Things will only get better.

First night for me starting tonight, haven't had a sober night in a few weeks. I remember having cold sweats/irritability when stopping in the past. I would never stop drinking for long enough to see how long the sweats would last, though. Good for you for talking to your doctor about it, I have too.
Welcome LouLa, glad that you saw your doc too - it's always good to get things checked out. I had the night sweats for several days after quitting, I think it's just your body finally clearing out all the accumulated pollution we put into ourselves.

One day at a time take it slow take it easy get some rest and try and relax as best as you can.
Welcome from a fellow 'Bama guy. Where in AL are you? If you are in SW Alabama and want to try AA I can set you up at a good meeting or 2. Let me know.
Everyone is different. 10 hours of sleep is awesome, many of us get little sleep the first few days. I can tell you this - it gets a lot better with time.
