Great responses, thanks everybody. After some reflection, I just want to be surrounded by people who find meaning and purpose in life in the face of the (sometimes) abyss of Atheism. I thought about why I drink, and it's because of boredom and depression (I'm being treated), and while drunk I could just be basically comatose and be entertained by the grass growing. What a terrible way to live.

What is surprising to me is that in AA, it seems that the prevailing opinion or philosophy is that spirituality necessitates admitting a higher power that we then learn to defer to or depend on. In the rest of the world, there is no set definition of spirituality, and many understand spirituality is much more wide open and encompassing.
