With my experience and close ties with people in the field Doctors in the US have little knowledge about treating alcoholics and would prefer they don’t show up at their door. Alcoholics do not have a good reputation in the medical community for many good reasons.

that is true
but -- with so many alcoholics and drug addicts around these days
doctors have to deal with many on a daily basis
probably not that excited to see one walk into the office
for the drunk can be almost impossible to help



would a doctor not help a co worker ??
