It's going to vary by person. I got past that part by about the 3rd day.

It took a week for mine to go when I last quit.
It's an evil cycle tho, because you know that drinking will make those shaking hands go away within 20 minutes.

Hi wonderfullife

like others have said it varies. I can't help cos I have tremors anyway thanks to other conditions.

If you're concerned it's always best to see a Doctor

Hi wonderfullife

They stopped after about 4-5 days. I'd been drinking 'round the clock though.

Its weird, but i never had the shakes. Never had headaches either. Mine was mostly horrible nause and violent vomiting. When i was drinking i couldnt eat unless i had a drink because food wouldmake me throw up. Couldnt really hold anything down (even water) except booze and coffee. I cant believe that was me.

They were 80% gone in about a week. Totally gone by 40 days. Mine were never that bad. Nothing like the scene in Leaving Las Vegas, but I would drop a pen every now and then or shake while taking fingerprints for a backgound check. The one time I noticed my hands shook a lot was in the airport security when you have to put your hands up and touch above your head.

Dang, I didn't even think about my hands shaking, until I read this. I'm just over 2 weeks and my hands don't shake at all anymore. I have no clue when they stopped. However, even after just 2 weeks my thought processes are much better.

Mine stopped after 2-3 days. My problem was that I didn't realize the shaking was from alcohol withdrawal until this last time. I always attributed it to not eating - I typically didn't eat the day after a binge (because hang over) until night time the following day.

3 weeks for me, although it was noticeably better after 5 days. There are people that have permanent neurological damage from booze (see alcoholic neuropathy), although this is fairly rare. Whatever happens don't play Dr. from an article your read, just go see a Dr. if this persists.

Mine took a while, like I wanna say a couple weeks before they were totally gone. I had them for a long time though, it was one of the earliest things that made people see that I had a problem.
