I'm a POS and that's why I would rather be drunk and high. Day 2
I had to cut ties with my family for a while Sero.
If that's not possible at least limit contact. Yes they will moan and cry and try and make you feel guilty - but they do that anyway.
Also...remember just because someone says it, doesn't mean it's true - even if it's you mom who says it.
You don't have to apologise for not being who your mom thinks you should be.
If my mom had her way I'd be in assisted living and I wouldn't be here on SR.

When I read your post about your mom my first thought is, "whoa, that woman has some serious stuff she needs to deal with." I don't think it's even really about you, I think it's just spilling over on you. It sucks for you to be in her emotional vomit zone when you're working so hard on staying sober. Can you create some distance from your mom for awhile? If you can find any way to do that I think it would be a great idea. Just keep swimmin sober. If your experience is anything like mine your brain will heal and just that will give you much more sense of hope. AA is also working for me. It's not for everyone but I'm finding it helpful in figuring out how to cope with life's stresses vs trying to crawl into a bottle every night.
