OMG, Im not drunk
Im 7 days sober after having a home detox which finished yesterday, I feel good no more waking up drenched in sweat & sweating all day. No hangover, no shaking, no feeling sick, no throwing up blood, no pins & needles the list goes on.
The only thing is I wish my memory could get better, the drink has battered my brain, im taking lots of vitamin b complex, thiamin & pabrinex injections. I hope to live life now as i should have been for all those wasted years, sure I think about drink everyday, thats the battle now, im going to try & get fit & try & find out who I am or was before the drink took over.
Detox is well worth it, I had to wait along time but im so glad i did it, my health was terrible & i had also damaged my liver which im hoping i can repair it, take as much help as you can, knowledge is power.
Im off to my alcohol meeting soon, then having acupuncture which is free, Ill try anything now to get my body healthy, I then have my assessement about my detox.

Congratulations Corky, you've taken a really important step. Expect your AV (alcoholic voice) to try and convince you that it's ok to have a drink. If you're ready for it, you'll have a much better chance of telling it to bugger off.

Well done Corky123. As others have said, withdrawal is very unpleasant but you've made it through 7 days and things should continue to improve. It may take a little time but you might be surprised how sobriety heals the body and mind. Good luck.
