Over 6 Months Sober
 

So I hit 6 months sober last month and I am quickly approaching 7 months next week. Thanks to my own perseverance and forcing myself to stay with AA, I have made it this far. I have still yet to get a long-term sponsor I feel comfortable with, nor have I started the steps yet but I'm going to meetings and keeping in touch with other alcoholics. In a way, I'm glad I haven't started working the steps yet because I think the time I have taken to get my head clear and work through some stuff on my own will give me a lot better insight when I'm ready. Anyways, just wanted to share.

well done on 6 months
i went 2 years around aa just doing the meetings before i got my sponsor
i didnt know it but i had already done half of step 1 by coming to the meetings like i was doing and it took me 2 years to really understand the rest of step one and how my life was really unmanageable the way i was living it

but use the time to look at people who seem to have a peace about them that you like as thats what attracted me to my sponosor and it still does today 10 years on
