Haven't had any urges all week. After work Friday afternoon it kicked in. A good three hours or so but I finally subdued it.

AV: This is stupid. Why are you doing this to yourself? Do YOU really think you'll never drink again?

Me: No way. I'm not drinking tonight. It's not worth it. Time for sushi dinner. Goodbye.

It's so true that these thoughts and feelings pass. But boy sometimes you really gotta be strong and wait it out. Or figure out exactly what to do and say.

Good characterization. I'm six months in and I can't stop thinking of sobriety as a form of self-torture. Which is ridiculous, given the deleterious effects drinking was having on me.

Christ, I don't like sushi. I'll have to find something else to tell that voice to f*ck off.
