Lessons

I'm back. I'm not going to post anything too negative, but all I'll say is that I've learned a valuable lesson. I dipped my toe back in the water, and fell straight in up to my neck. I now know this is how IT IS, and it is NOT going to be any different. I can't drink PERIOD. I don't drink, I get drunk.

I've been in recovery for nearly a year now, and out of those (approx) 360 days, I think I have drunk about 30 of them - so I am making progress. I'm not going to let this get me down, I'm going to get back on track. I like being sober and all the happy positive feelings it brings - I hate being drunk.

Thanks for listening. :veryhappy

Much love

JC

JC... I am so not worried about your desire for sobriety.
I absolutely know you want it. And once you're convinced that the result of dipping your toe in the water will always be the same, you'll say to yourself... That's it.
I'm pulling for you mate.
Back to the meetings.
Back to the book. Perhaps time for a sponsor yes?
Welcome Back James

JC...... you know the results of dipping your toe in the water. Maybe before you dip, think thru the drink. Think how it will make you feel afterward.
I hate being drunk.
30 out of 360? Sounds like 0 out of 360 is not out of the question.

Like Dan said, back to the meetings!

Thank you for sharing....
Reminds me not to go dipping my toes in to anything but the bath water.
And beleieve me yesterday I surprised myself by seriously thinking for a few seconds that I should just have one....then I made myself think about all the good things that are happening because of my sobriety and all the bad stuff that happens when i drink, and prayed.
I am confident you will get this sobriety stuff down pat.

Glad to hear you have a sponsor. In my opinion, a sponsor makes a world of difference. Go for it mate.
