It's not like an insult, they just have a whole bunch of other things to deal with as well so if they can get the detox patients out in order to free up beds for like terminally ill patients, they're going to do that as efficiently, safely, and quickly as possible. I was checked into an ER with a .5 BAC and they had me out in two days.
A detox center is going to keep you there as long as humanly possible, on the other hand, since they profit off of that. It's not like they're not going to give you good treatment at the detox facility, but you can easily go from the ER and then have the doctor give you a script and detox at home for way cheaper than a treatment facility.
Most hospitals are pretty amicable about giving support group information out for free as well. |
