4 years sober today!!!

I have proven to myself I can stay sober, 4 years so is the longest I have ever been sober since 15 years of age. I believe I can accurately state that the longer you drink the more powerful the grip addiction gets on you, so I beg you please, if you know you have a drinking problem and want to stop do not give up doing something to divert your attention away from it. Post here on SR often, PM somebody about how you feel, go to an AA or NA meeting. Early on one thing I did when I got a craving was to jump on it with NO NO NO and put some emotion into, it helped. Believe support works, it really does, I know it and SR is as good as it gets for support. I thank you all so much for being here. Rootin for everyone.

Wow, that's awesome!! 4 years sounds damn near impossible to me right now. I've only made it half that long and that ended about 10 years ago. Picking up that first drink really does make all the difference in the world. I've regretted it ever since.
