Audio Hallucinations

How many of you have had audio hallucinations during recovery? I drank a fifth of scotch every night. I thought music or speech was coming from my fan and furnace. How long did your hallucinations last?

It was just one of the many symptoms that I had while going through DT's.

I'm on day 5 of recovery and I hear things like music or advertisements coming from things that don't make any sense. I hope this stops soon.

I've never had this but i've read others experiencing it here. If you are concerned you should see at doctor of course.

I called the police this morning thinking the unit owners below me were making a loud porn film HAHAHA. I still had the shakes and thought there was a loud thumping subwooofer. The cop called me paranoid.

I did around day 5. Worst thing in the world, as everything seemed so real to me. Things were talking to me and moving around. I did go to the ER...they just pumped me full of meds and sent me home.

Only lasted a few days, but I never want to go back there again. It's horrible.

Hang in there!

Yes, but I never heard anyone else say that before.

I would be vacuuming the floor and was absolutely certain the phone was ringing and was pissed off why my husband was not answering the phone!

It will go away I had them after quitting. Same thing music coming from the wall AC, voices in the other room, knocking sounds, sound of keys dropping on the floor. I had to keep reminding myself it wasn't real (I live in a rural area it's very quiet). It lasted until about the 5th night then went away.

If you are still having the shakes along with the hallucinations I'd strongly suggest seeing a doctor. Better to be safe than sorry.

My major problem at this point is that i feel nauseated after doing even slight physical labor. I actually had the same problem when drinking heavily.

Did you read any of the links that I posted? It sounds serious. I agree with Scott. See a doctor.

Anyone having hallucinations of any kind really needs to see a Doctor, Green Color.
If you're having vivid hallucinations (audio or visual), and also have the shakes, it's imperative you get yourself looked at, if only to be safe.

I also had audio hallucinations along with visual ones. I also heard music and people talking through the fan. Once, I thought I heard some kind of religious singing coming from the people living below me. I thought it must be coming up the wall and through the cord of the fan!! For me, it lasted around two days.
I strongly suggest you see a doctor!! That stuff is no joke.

What the OP is explaining sounds like this and I do the same thing. I'll have my fan on full blast sometimes and swear I hear the phone ringing. I have racing thoughts sometimes, so that combined with a loud base sound...can make you think your thoughts are out loud...but all your hearing is the fan or whatever the sound is. Sometimes I need to turn the fan off because when all I can hear is the fan and then my racing mind...it can be hard to sleep. It's like the fan is screaming your own thoughts at you...and you could get confused and think your own thoughts are that sound. Hard to explain, but I think the OP is trying to explain what I'm trying to explain.
