Hey Everyone… Just to let you know this is my first post I ever written. I have been reading threads on here for a good 3 months. It has helped me tremendously to read some of the stories on here people write. Anyways I have been drinking for about 11 years. 7 of those years have been daily drinking around 400ml of vodka a day maybe a little more on the weekend. Anyways I have only drank 6 times in the last 25 days. Incredible improvement compared to everyday drinking lol. Anyways I have had a few withdrawals like insomnia, sweating at night, increased appetite, and mild itchness. One symptom I don't understand my belly seems distended and bloated. It doesn't hurt when I touch it or anything. I was wondering is this because of water retention? In another words, did my daily drinking cause this because I probably have been chronically dehydrated all these years because of my drinking. Is it a rebound effect that readjusted after a certain amount of time of abstinence from alcohol? Also the bloating tends to be the least right when I wake up, but gets more bloated as the day goes on… Sorry for the long post.

Welcome to SR livinitup, there is definitely a wealth of support here. Is your plan to quit for good eventually?

Regarding your stomach, we can't give medical advice here, I would suggest seeing your doctor if you are worried about it.

As Scott mentioned if your concerned about anything check in with a Dr, but from my experience has to adjust to not having alcohol, so withdrawals can take many forms!!
