No bathroom?
Trying to keep this as neutral as possible, I wish I could have found an answer by searching , but on day 3 of sobriety, and despite drinking at least 8 glass of water a day and eating pretty healthy, it seems like other than once or twice a day, I'm only losing "water" as I lay in bed sweating at night. Is that normal? I hate to think I'm not drinking enough water, I feel like I'm reaching for a glass every time I turn around.

Maybe try a glass of tea or some watermelon both duretics might help get things going. Booze does dehydrate people. From my perspective if your dirnking this much wather and not going somethings not right. But of course I'm like a dang dog i gotta go 4 times an hour so my perspective is skewed.
Maybe give it another couple of days and if you don't have a BM (I'm assuming that's what you're concerned about) then maybe check with your doctor. Our bodies go through all kinds of weird changes when we quit drinking. I wish I could say it only lasts a week or so, but it can go on for a few months before everything gets back to normal.
Congratulations on three days sober!!

Ever ask a question you didn't want, then really not want to clarify yourself?
I'm more concerned with urination. A single beer would have me in the bathroom almost immediately, but 4 cups of water seem to have no effect other than to make me feel bloated.

I used to wake up and my mouth was like the sahara desert each morning I coudlnt down the water fast enougha nd it never clenched my thirst god i dont miss those days. I'd be so dried up it was awful.
if it persists i'd consider seeing a doctor could be a bigger issue going on.
You might retain fluids for a bit till your body gets back in balance. You were likely dehydrated for quite a bit when drinking and your body is retaining fluids in "preservation" mode. I would think you will likely get some balance in a couple more days.

Thanks again everyone.
My routine usually involved a mix of hard liquor either mixed with soda, or more recently straight with a caffeinated chaser. I'd say other than a coffee in the morning at work, or some tea or water when I was really dehydrated, that was it. Definitely experiencing the dry mouth after waking up now. I'll see how it goes in a day or two.
Beer is a diretic best i can figure is your body wants that water for some reason what was your fluid intake like when you drank I mean fluid other then booze. I'm not gonna dignose you but curious if you drank much other then booze prior to sobering up. Just sounds to me like your body wants that water. Its gonna wanna wash out the toxins and such too.

Probably just a thing that will correct itself.
Maybe it's keeping the water to sweat at night. Sweat is a great mechanism for detox. You are probably just really "pickled" with all the booze.
I was the same, I drank gallons and would barely go for a few days. But the sweats! Yikes
See your doc if it doesn't resolve itself.

I like that term Thepatman, "pickled". Everything's better today, I think it just took a few days to rehydrate my body with water instead of bourbon. After 18+ years of drinking, this is my first shot at sobriety, so I really appreciate the support and the answers.
