going back a ways

All In The Family - a classic. Archie Bunker was the classic all American character. It's a shame that honest television characters are not allowed in America anymore.

That one with Valerie Bertinelli - One Day at a Time -
MASH
Seinfeld

You know I thought about adding Father Ted, but I don't know if our American friends would have seen that short but classic comedy, did they?

I haven't be able to watch sitcoms that have canned laughter/laugh tracks which almost ALL of them do for years now. I am absolutely distracted and have a form of OCD, or whatever it may be called that its all I can hear. After every single line there is that fake laughter. Ruins it for me.

Then you'd like Modern Family. No laugh track. The only laughing you hear is coming out of your own face.

I don't watch a lot of TV but we have fun looking up a lot of old sitcoms/series on netflix as we don't have cable TV or satellite at all. My kids have actually been enjoying the old police show Adam-12 and also Emergency!.

Hogans's Heroes and MASH.

Lived in Australia before there was color TV (1974 was the year they got it, while we were there) and watched US sitcoms that were a year in the past. That and BBC was all we got!
