2 Years Sober today!!!
I know I don't get on here much at all anymore, but it was hard not to log on today and tell people who understand how hard this accomplishment is! 2 years! I can't believe it. Drinking was what I used to do, and now I can't even remember what it's like. I like it this way.
I'm 37 weeks pregnant and expecting my first child, a daughter, in 19 days. I know this would not have been possible if I didn't quit drinking. During my pregnancy, I had a lot of hard days. I told myself that when this baby was born, i'd drink again, but it passed and I know I'm doing the right thing. It's just not always easy!
Just wanted to throw that out there for the newer folks around here. It's never easy. Some days are easier than others, but don't allow yourself to get TOO comfortable.
Best of luck to you all! I'll try to check in here more often~

Wow congratulations! What a brilliant achievement. I cant wait until I get to two months - never mind 2 years! I'm 34 and hope my drinking hasnt scuppered any chance of conceiving one day, your post gave me some hope!
Congratulations again, and good luck with motherhood! Bet you cant wait!

Thanks everyone! I can't wait for this baby to come and to start another phase of my life! My daughter needs a good role model, and not a mommy who wants to drink wine all the time!!
And you're not just a mommy who doesn't drink wine, you're also a woman who has the strength and determination to be overcoming a potentially fatal condition. And I bet you're empathetic too. She's going to be one lucky little girl
