6 months and still doing new things sober!
Well, I'm 6.5 months sober, and still there are things I haven't done sober yet.
Next week will be my first airplane ride, sober. Whew!!!!
The week after that will be my first family reunion and wedding, sober.
Memorial Day I finally did the beach sober. What a lovely lovely time!!!
A few weeks ago I sang in church, not hungover, no alcohol in my system.
Are you having any "first time doing this sober" experiences you'd like to share?
Some of them still cause major anxiety (the cross-country trip coming up, for example), but I'm looking forward to experiencing and REMEMBER them!

Wow, SoberMama! Congratulations and lovely post!
I went to a leaving do a few weeks ago and, to the amazement of everyone there, didn't touch a drop. When I told them I was over a year sober, their faces were brilliant!

Thanks for asking, Silentrun.....
PAWS is definitely still present, but also definitely getting better!
Had my shrink up my dose of anti-anxiety meds (non addictive, of course) and it seems to be helping finally! Hooray!

yeah who knew life could be enjoyable without booze!
I recall thinking about how life would be so terrible without booze how would i ever do this or that sober i'd think. Oh how awful it would be. I thought there is no way i'll ever do (insert wtvr) without booze.
The only thing i've found so far really unenjoyable without booze is being at a party with a bunch of drunk people and i'm the only sober one. I left rather quickly and thought OMG I used to act like that??! I was appauld.
So yeah I guess maybe going to a bar with a bunch of drunk people and not drinking might stink but other then that I cant think of anything thats better with booze. yet.
That first year is great becuase you get to expierience a lot holidays and various life events that you never thought you could get through without booze. after a year most of those types of situations are under your belt and you gain a lot of confidence that no obstacle can stand in your way.
Congrats on the 6.5 months!
