Like Dee said Maxx--stopping the booze intake is only the first step.

It gives you the "space" to begin to rework your life.
9 months is a great start--stop again and keep building on that foundation.

Every day is a work in progress for me still and I'm getting towards three years total
sober time, minus six week relapse.

Gradually, life is getting better and I'm beginning to figure out many things that first led me to drink.
It is a process that is taking time and sometimes painful honesty about myself and my choices in the the past, but it is so worth it.

Glad you are back and posting.

I'm not a big poster, but when I read your posts, I always think 'that's the thing... it's tough sober, too, and it's ok to find it tough', and I feel I really learn from your threads. I'm sorry you're putting yourself through pain and shame right now, and I'm rooting for you.

Could be better. My girlfriend that has been with me during my recovery found some empties around the house that I tried to hide. No surprise, she is completely devastated. I'm not sure if were going to make it. Her crying has been really tearing me apart - its been constant.
Just sorta numb to everything right now..
wish I had some better news but I don't.

Maxx, what's making you feel numb to everything? Numbing out through drinking will only lead to loss -- you won't keep relationships or anything else while you feed your addiction because it will take everything.
